Mathematics Introduction

The department of mathematics offers courses in Engineering Mathematics to the first and second year UG students and first year PG students. The department is headed by Dr.Venkanagouda M Goudar. He has 26 years of rich experience in teaching and research. Presently there are two highly distinguished Professors, three Associate Professors and three Assistant Professors in the Department.

About the Department

The Department of mathematics has come into existence since the inception of the institute in the year 1979. The department is equipped with qualified, self-motivated, academically oriented faculty members. As the strong knowledge of Mathematics creates an efficient Engineer.

All the faculty of the department have doctoral degree. The department had a research centre recognized by Kuvempu University till 2017. Now, the research centre is affiliated to Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education, Tumkur.

Seven research scholars have been awarded Ph.D. degree and currently Six Candidates are perusing part time Ph.D. program. The thrust areas of research of the department include Graph theory and Combinatorics, Fluid Mechanicsand Differential Geometry.

The Department has published more than 100 Research Papers in peer-Reviewed national/ International Journals. Based on the needs of various disciplines, the department is imparting the updated curriculum from time to time.

Physics Introduction

The Department of Physics is headed by Dr. M. S. Rudresha and supported by one Associate Professor and three Assistant Professors. Engineering Physics forms the basis and integral part of present day modern institutes of science and technology. It is the discipline devoted to creating and optimizing engineering solutions through enhanced understanding and integrated application of physical, mathematical, scientific, statistical and engineering principles.

About the Department

The Department of Physics offers courses in Engineering Physics to the first and second semester B.E students and the course is common to all branches of engineering in order to nurture young minds towards scientific challenges. The department has been effectively functional since the inception of the Institute. It is one among the subjects to be granted permission by Sri Siddhartha Academy of Higher Education as the research center to pursue research and to motivate researchers and scientists to build their career in academics and industries. The department stands focused to its ideals in imparting knowledge in physics and emphasizing its importance along with relevance to future engineering professionals. The department has contributed towards the institute’s cause and growth by imparting quality education and carrying out successful research in novel frontiers of basic and applied science. The course curriculum both in theory and practical are periodically upgraded as per the guidelines.

The Department is supported by well qualified, experienced and dedicated staff with a vision to provide the knowledge and understanding of latest developments in Science, so that the students can explore it for the development of Technology. The faculty members are actively involved in academic activities and research work in their respective fields. The department has good infrastructure that includes a spacious laboratory with ample light and ventilation, well equipped with advanced experimental apparatus required for the curriculum. The faculty members train the students to handle the equipment as well as help them have a profound base of physics that is relevant to all branches of engineering and technology.

Chemistry Introduction

The department of chemistry is headed by the Dr. K. Sunil and supported by 3 faculties with a vision to provide the knowledge and understanding of latest developments in Science, so that the students can explore it for the development of Technology.

About the Department

Chemistry department is equipped with Three Associate Professors and one Assistant Professor. All teaching faculties are Doctoral degree holders and continuing their research work in their respective fields.

Chemistry laboratory is spacious with ample light and ventilation and has a provision to accommodate 24 students to experiment at a time. All laboratory apparatus, chemicals are of ‘A’ grade. The equipments are of higher end and well maintained.

More than 75 Research papers have been published in both International and National Journals. Many Workshops and Conferences are also organized.

The faculty members are guiding the Research scholars in the different fields under SSAHE. Ten members have received the doctoral degree under VTU and SSAHE. 10 Research scholars are pursuing their Ph.D at SSAHE in the fields like chalcons, Schiff’s base, Medicinal fields, Corrosion and Polymers.

A KCTU project of Rs. 42.10 lakhs is running under Dr. K Sunil, the Principal Investigator, on the medicinal applications.

A project of Rs 1.80 Lakhs is sanctioned by SSAHE during 2022 to Dr. K Sunil as The Principal Investigator, on the medicinal applications.
