ABOUT ED-CELL:
Entrepreneurship Development Cell (ED-Cell) of Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is established to develop and strengthen entrepreneurial qualities in the budding professionals who are interested in starting their own ventures. ED-Cell also motivate, support and mentor the students for identification, development and commercialization of their innovation ideas. The ED cell of SSIT provides infrastructure and technical support to the students having innovative ideas to transform into new products and services for the betterment of the society.

To be a resource, guidance and motivation centre, where successful world-class entrepreneurs are created and nurtured.
Mission
To prepare the students to be successful entrepreneurs who have the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude to create, manage and expand, future enterprises with the support of National Entrepreneurship Network.
Objectives OF ED-Cell
- To create greater awareness of opportunities and benefits of entrepreneurship among the students, to make them realize their dream business through innovative products and to develop greater entrepreneurial culture within the institution.
- To encourage the students to consider self-employment as a career option, provide training in Entrepreneurship through modular courses and increase the relevance of Management particularly in the non-corporate and under managed sectors.
- To create an environment for self-employment and entrepreneurship development through formal and non-formal programmes.
- To introduce the concept of entrepreneurship in curricula degree levels.
- To develop management personnel at appropriate levels for the non-corporate and unorganized sectors like education, rural development, small-scale industry etc.
- To utilize the infrastructure facilities and technically trained manpower for the development of non-corporate and unorganized sectors.
- To promote employment opportunities
Functions of ED-Cell
- Organize entrepreneurship awareness camps, entrepreneurship development programmes, skill development programmes
- Organize Business Plan Competitions
- Arrange students-to-entrepreneurs "face to face" programmes
- Initiate innovative student projects for innovative product development
- Organize E-week celebrations
- Guide and assist potential entrepreneurs in the process of setting up, growing and managing the new venture
- Arrange guest lectures by successful entrepreneurs and provide a platform for interaction between professional entrepreneurs and student entrepreneur
