Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science)
Introduction
The B.E. program in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) was started in the academicyear 2022-23 with an intake of 30 studentsThe department has enhanced the intake to 60 students in 2023-24. Data Analytics is a boon to modern-day businesses and there is a great demand in industry for Data scientist and there is scarcity of talented individuals in the field. To fill the skills shortfall in the industry it is now the best time to start a career in Data Science. The use of computer technologies is also common place in all types of organizations, in academia, research, industry, government, private and business organizations. As computers become even more pervasive, the potential for computer-related careers will continue to grow and the career paths in computer-related fields will become more diverse.
Data Science focuses on building engineering graduates to be skilled Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Data analyst and in various other designations. The program introduces students to the various application domains like finance, business, and healthcare wherein Data Science can be used to make smarter decisions, improve efficiency and control risks.Data engineering involves data collection methods, designing enterprise data storage and retrieval. The core data science subjects focus on data analytics, visualization, predictive modeling and analytics for data-driven decision making. Knowledge representation, machine learning, artificial intelligence, deep learning will be educated with relevant case studies.
The students can study industry-specific, custom-designed program electives on Blockchain Technologies, Natural Language Processing, Mobile Application Development, Cyber Security, Deep Learning, Social Media Networks Analysis and Robotic Process Automation Design and Development. The programme is designed to develop human resources to meet the challenges of ever-growing technologically advanced IT industries and digital revolution. The programme deals with important present day topics like data analytics, information security, bioinformatics, data warehousing and data mining, mobile application development and cloud computing. The domain of Data Analytics is observed to offer one of the highest-paid job roles across the globe.OF THE DEPARTMENT
